Broke Arm

As some of you have heard, Isabella broke her arm Monday night. However, we didn't even know it was broke, hard to believe, I know. Around 10pm-ish on Monday night, she was climbing on the couch (mind you she had already gotten in trouble for climbing to the top), but as 2 year olds do, she did it again, and fell over the back. There was a blanket on top of the couch and the blanket slipped out from under her, she came over the back of the couch. She, of course, cried and then said she was ready for bed. So, we let her sleep with us and she really didn't sleep all that great, but still didn't say too much about her arm. Tuesday morning she played and played and then I noticed she was fussing/whining a little when she would put pressure on it. So, I really started to get curious and started asking her to squeeze my finger, try to hold herself up and crawl, etc. When she completely face planted into the bed while trying to crawl, I knew something was up, so we called made and appt for 3pm. The dr. did x-ray's and then told us both bones in her forearm were broke. A buckle brake is what they called it. Thank goodness for Trina, she volunteered herself to go with me and ultimately was my lifesaver! I don't think she planned on a whole night trip, but was so helpful! I am indebted to her for along time for this one. :) The dr. then sent us the the ER in Temple to see the orthopedic dr. Everyone was so amazed with Belle, because she never cried through any of this. She might make a face if they pushed on her arm or turned it the wrong way, but never cried. She was sooooo brave, I am soooo blessed. The nurses and the doctors was very impressed and some surprised that we knew it was broke, seeing that she didn't cry. I think she was too shy to cry in front of them. But, they took more x-rays and then came and put the splint on her arm. When they put the splint on, they had a lady come in there and focus just on Belle, she blew bubbles with her, played with stuffed animals, colored, it was great. They did such an amazing job, I had such a mindset of terrible care that we would get seeing it was the emergency room, but it was just the opposite. Belle was just excited they had Disney Channel in her room (however, hannah montana was not on). Now, our biggest hurdle is getting her to realize she has a broke arm and she can't use it! She is our little tough girl, so she thinks she can do everything she did before. We go back Monday for her appt with the pediatric orthopedic doctor (wow that is a mouthful!). They might put a hard cast on it or just redo the splint. We will see.
As you can see by Emberli's picture, she is feeling all better. She had been sick since last Wednesday. Wednesday she started off with a very small fever of 99.6, well Thursday it went to 100.6, and Friday she had her 6 month checkup and before we went she had 101.4. Then by the time I got to Killeen it was 103!!!! Good grief! So, they said she had tonsilitis and just to treat the fever. So we did, and finally on Sunday it started to go down to 102. Then Monday she was doing great. So on Tuesday when we took Belle for her appt, we got Emberli's shots. Might as well get all the babies taken care of at once I guess. But, she is doing good, just growing quickly...she definetely doesn't miss a meal ( as you can see). :)

Future Rockstar

Emberli had fun, I think she just likes the camera. Still curious, not quite sure what it is.

Isabella the Rockstar

Here's a glimpse at our future Hannah Montana!

Rockstar Sisters

These are my future rockstars! A couple of weeks ago, our dance studio at the gym put on a Rockstar dance camp. While Belle and Emberli are still too young to participate, Traci (whose studio I use from time to time) was doing the pictures for the camp, so she told us to come and have our picture made. Belle was sooo excited....until we got there. Poor Traci, Emberli is of couse clueless and Belle, just wanted to go back to bed. I think she was more interested in playing on the karoke machine singing Hannah Montana songs with the older girls.

Best Friends

One of Isabella's friends spent the night with us last weekend. So, I took them to the park to let out some energy, but of course they had to dress alike. Wow, didn't know clothes could cause drama at age 2. Wow! They had fun together, but boy they were beat by the end of the night.

And we are off!

Yes we are now crawling. I now have put the superyard fence up again, so she can't escape somewhere without me noticing. As you can see why...I heard her fussing one day while I was helping Isabella with something so we ran into the living room and found her under the couch. Silly girl! But we are officially crawling (now that the diaper derby is over...lol), but not very fast.

The Finale: The parade

Emberli had to check out everyone at the parade, and then of course, she slept through the rest. Too much excitement for her I guess. Belle enjoyed it, except it was soo hot as usual. Spring Ho has got to be the hottest week our little town sees every year. But, she thought the fire trucks were way too loud for her pleasure. So she covered her ears. And then, yes, of course, we had to go back and ride the horse one more time, before the carnival left town. She loved it!

Too much Spring Ho

I think Emberli had too much Spring Ho at this point. And Isabella finally got to ride the horse. She loved it. She could have stayed on it all night long, I believe.

Kid's Day

During Spring Ho, they have a day dedicated for the kids, and they have races and face painting and all sorts of fun stuff for the kids to do. Well, I finally let Isabella get her face painted for the first time. Then Shelly and I decided to let Belle and Kalyn do the sack races. The thought was great (and maybe we practiced too much). It took awhile after we practiced with the girls for them to actually have their turn. So, Belle never went anywhere as you can see and Kalyn bounced for a little bit and had enough. Maybe next year girls!

Diaper Derby

Ok, ok, I know, technically she doesn't crawl that far yet, however, who can turn down a photo op moment? :) We did put Emberli in the Diaper Derby, but I don't think she ever made eye contact with me once the race started. She was much more interested in everyone around her than she was in trying to crawl. The baby to the right came and sat in front of her at one point like he just wanted to come visit and play. That was soo not helpful. But hey, we got a participation ribbon out of it. :)

Checking things out

We took Isabella to the carnival to see if she would like to ride the rides. We just checked things out for her that night, and then came back later in the week to ride.

Spring Ho has arrived!

The first picture is from Gospel Night and then the rest are of the fireworks. Emberli loves fireworks, just like her sister. She could just sit there and watch them forever, I think.

Almost crawling

Emberli is so close to crawling. She will take two steps and then fall down. She loves to get into crawling position and just rock back and forth until she launches herself forward.

Grammy and her girls!

As you see, Emberli didn't stay awake for the whole parade. She woke up and was ready to play. And of course, Isabella had to get in there too. She can't be left out, you know. Emberli loves to give kisses.

More parade pics

As you see we bought Belle a flag to wave in the parade. She loved it. We did try to teach her how to respect the flag and such. As, you see, Emberli loved the parade too....lol. That was just too much excitement for her little body to handle I guess. As for Belle, just bring on the music and she was dancing...as you can see. And yes, she does make that face all the time when she dances. It is tooo funny. Glad I finally caught part of it on camera.

4th of July parade

My mom and I went to Lubbock with the girls over the Fourth of July weekend. We tried to take them in June, but Belle got sick, so we tried again in July. These are pics of before the parade. I think Belle really enjoyed it. Of course, if you go to a Fourth of July parade you must get all the stuff to go with it, the "bling bling", the sunglasses, the outfits...the whole nine yards.

Daddy's Girl

Just a picture I like of Rob and Emberli. She is a daddy's girl (most of the time).

Starting Solids

Well, we finally started Emberli on her first solid foods. She hates her highchair, just like Isabella did, but she loves food. She totally grabbed the spoon out of my hand and put it in her mouth. I guess she was ready for real food.
